🧘 Self-Compassion is Total Responsibility

🧘 “Self-compassion is total responsibility for our actions”

Hello everyone!

Welcome to your Weekly Insights.

Continuing on from last week, I wanted to offer a thought: self-compassion dawns when we take responsibility for our own actions.

Only once we fully accept ourselves and this moment can we understand why we are the way we are.

And it is only through this understanding that we can truly forgive ourselves and embrace ourselves in compassion.

True self-compassion can only unfold once we fully accept who we are and what we’ve created, without judgement, rather with compassionate observation.

But of course, compassionate observation is not always easy.

That’s why I recommend.. meditation.

Sitting in silence/stillness will allow us to observe all the sound/movement unfolding around us.

The more subtle our observation, the more profound our realizations.

Once you are able to sit in that stillness, you will be able to understand why you have acted the way you have acted.

And why everyone acts the way they act! It is unconscious patterns that most people live through.

And much like a mother observing her child who doesn’t know any better, you will be able to recognize why you and everyone else are acting in the manner we all are.

It is because we have no buffer time when reacting to thoughts and emotions.

But once we can create a buffer time between ourselves and our thoughts/emotions, we can then use compassion to embrace ourselves and let go of what we have been holding.

So that is why I said: self-compassion dawns when we take responsibility for our own actions.

Once we take full responsibility for our thoughts by recognizing that they are totally up to us, self-compassion will then begin to unfold.

I know that this is not the usual approach to a topic like this.

And I hope it provides an avenue of understanding for those who wouldn’t have been able to approach this subject otherwise.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any topics or ideas you wish to see.

See you next week,
