🧘 The Silent Man

Hola everyone,

Are you familiar with the name Meher Baba?

Meher Baba was an Indian spiritual master who remained silent for 44 years. On July 10, 1925, at the age of 31, Meher Baba entered a prolonged phase of silence until his death in 1969.

During his time in silence, he would communicate via an alphabet board while pointing to the letters rapidly.

But his silence is not the reason why I am dedicating an entire newsletter to him. Rather, it is because of the work he did while he was here.

Meher Baba dedicated much of his life to traveling around India and assisting those who were seen as mentally ill. To Baba, he saw them not as mentally ill but as people who had opened up to the divine but got lost in the ocean.

It would be like learning how to swim in an inflatable pool and then skydiving in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

As we progress on our spiritual journey, as we inch forward towards Union with God. Union with all.

We must ensure that we are rooted into the Earth like a tree, as to not get lost on the journey upwards. We must ensure that we are totally grounded into reality.

Meher Baba dedicated much of his time to seeking out and assisting those who had experienced oneness, but in that experience, they lost touch with reality.

So, I suppose this newsletter serves as a reminder of the importance of grounding ourselves on our journey of inner development (and in life in general!).

Because remaining grounded amongst the ups and downs of life is crucial.

If you’re going through a difficult time in your life, consider connecting with nature, practicing mindful breathing (through your nose only) or simply finding things to be grateful for and you may begin to feel the benefits of grounding.
